Margaret â€śPeggyâ€ť Riley Abplanalp, 88, of Bridge Street Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, surrounded by all three of her children at the home of her daughter, Mary Costanzo, in Ridgway.
She was born June 18, 1926 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Leon and Eleanor Donnelly Riley.
She attended Holy Rosary School, Johnsonburg High School Class of 1944, and St. Johns (Pittsburgh) Nursing Program.
Peggy was married to Lester â€śTappyâ€ť Abplanalp on Dec. 27, 1952; he preceded her in death Sept. 22, 1960.
Loretta M. Kline, 94, a resident at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at Elk Haven.
Loretta was born June 6, 1920 in Brandy Camp, daughter of the late Alfred and Myrtle Trumbull Ruth.
She was married to Theodore Kline, who died June 14, 1972.
Retired, Loretta had been employed at St. Marys Carbon. She was a lifelong member of the Brandy Camp United Methodist Church. Loretta enjoyed crocheting and needlework. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially taking camping trips with her grandchildren.
Deborah A. Kronenwetter, 58, of 91 Wes Ln., St. Marys, died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1956, a daughter of Richard Johnston and the late Helen Goodrow Johnston, who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2010.
On April 8, 2006, she married David Kronenwetter, who survives.
Shirley R. Holmberg, 88, of Coneville, formerly of Ridgway, died at home Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 after a long illness.
Born May 3, 1926 in Kane, she was a daughter of John and Willa Bullers Eliason. In 1946 in Ridgway, she married Claude E. Holmberg, who died Feb. 26, 2006.
Shirley was employed at PNC Bank in Ridgway, retiring after many years of service.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ridgway. Shirley loved to crochet. Her greatest love was her husband. She adored her many cats.
Betty J. Olmstead Calla, 90, of 6540 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, died Monday morning, Nov. 10, 2014 at Ridgeview Elder Care in Curwensville following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 21, 1924 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., daughter of the late Louis Olmstead and Leona Norlin Olmstead McMahon.
She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and attended Johnsonburg High School.
Daniel F. Caggeso, 85, formerly of 246 Country Club Rd., Ridgway, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Ridgway, son of the late Lorenzo and Carmella (Tamburi) Caggeso. He married Edna Lucille Caldwell on July 14, 1951, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 2012.
He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, the K of C and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII.
Aldo R. Gavazzi, 86, of Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys and formerly of Old Kane Road in Wilcox, died Friday morning, Oct. 31, 2014 at Elk Haven following a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 5, 1928 in Byrnedale, son of the late Armondo and Bena Parisi Gavazzi.
He married Patricia L. Halquist on Nov. 13, 1954 in Nazareth Lutheran Church in Wilcox. She died April 18, 2014.
Mr. Gavazzi resided in St. Marys for the past three years. He lived in Wilcox most of his life having moved there after his marriage in 1954. He attended school in Byrnedale.
William Miles Carlson, 79, of McEwen Run Road, Brockway, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Bill was born March 22, 1935 at the home of his parents, John and Faye (Bloom) Carlson, in Elbon.
He married Dorothy (Snookie) Lundberg on May 29, 1971. Billâ€™s â€śDorothy Jâ€ť survives and was his devoted caregiver for several years.
Diane Marie Mayo, 28, of Ridgway Drive, Ridgway, died unexpectedly at home Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014.
She was born April 12, 1986, in Salem, Mass., daughter of David Rossi and Virginia Mayo.
She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, a member of the Salvation Army Church of Ridgway and St. Pias Church of Lynn, Mass., and loved to write poetry. She lived most of her life in Lynn, Mass. until she came to Ridgway in 2010.
William Francis Lunder, 65, of Oknefski Road in Ridgway, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.
He was born Dec. 1, 1948 in Ridgway, son of the late Leo W. and Ardis M. Oknefski Lunder.
He lived his whole life on Oknefski Road, and was a graduate of the Ridgway Area High School, Class of 1967.
During high school, he was employed at the Center Market, and afterwards he was employed at Motion Control for 44 years.
Bill loved life. He enjoyed farming, riding motorcycles, hunting and working on cars and his home.
