Helen Johanna Imbrogno, 92, of 636 Second Ave., Johnsonburg, died Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born March 7, 1922 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Stebich.
On Sept. 25, 1954 in St. Mary's Church, St. Marys, she married Carl Imbrogno and he survives
She resided in Johnsonburg since her marriage. She lived her childhood in St. Marys with her grandparents Henry and Henrietta Finfinger.
Carlos R. Soler, 90, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 in Orange City, Fla.
Carlos was retired United States Navy with 30 years of service. He lived in Florida and moved to Ridgway with his wife Betty in 2006. They would enjoy their summers in Ridgway and their winters in Florida. Carlos was also a lifetime member of the Ridgway Gun Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Soler, and his brother, George Soler.
Jacqueline Anne â€śJackieâ€ť Weinstein, 51, of Emporium, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 after battling a lifelong illness that she finally succumbed to in her Emporium home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1963, beloved daughter of Rose M. and Martin E. Koch of Ridgway, and the oldest of three children.
Jackie was the heart-bound companion and wife of 27 years to Larry Weinstein of Chicago, Ill. with whom she raised her crown jewels of her life, sons Robert â€śCodyâ€ť Mathis and Justin Weinstein.
Raymond P. Fields, 61, Kriner Road, DuBois, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Sept. 8, 1952 in Ridgway, he was the son of Horace and Norma (Britton) Fields. His mother survives and lives in Brockport.
On Sept. 22, 1973, he married Judy M. (Utzinger) Fields. She survives.
He retired from the Reynoldsville Casket Company. Previous to that, he worked at Chapman Auto Parts.
Gail J. Gerg, 79, of 509 West Main St., Ridgway, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born Feb. 15, 1935 in St. Marys, son of the late Harry and Margaret Cunningham Gerg.
He married Roselyn Schilk, she survives him.
He was a commercial electrician by trade, and he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was also a member of the Ridgway Legion and Elks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael and Daniel Gerg; step-children Timothy, Christine, Stephanie, Mary and Charles; and several grandsons, granddaughters and many great-grandchildren.
Wayne C. Brechtel, 65, of 159 Terra Cotta, Johnsonburg, died Aug. 31, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 14, 1949 in Ridgway, son of Eugene R. "Gene" and Catherine J. Rezmerski Brechtel.
He resided in Johnsonburg for the past 14 years and formerly resided in Cocoa Beach, Fla., Frostburg, Md. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, class of 1967. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Central Hose Co., and served in the Pa. National Guard. He had played AAA baseball in the Houston Astros Farm System. He loved to play cards.
Rose Marie Szymanski, 73, of Jarrett Street, Wilcox died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 1, 1940 in Glen Hazel, daughter of the late Andrew & Helen (Bodistow) Zimmerman. On May 16, 1964, she married Walter F. Szymanski, who preceded her death on June 11, 2003.
James A. Glatt, 57, of Little Ave., Ridgway, died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014 at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 24, 1957 in St. Marys, son of Andrew G. and Rosalie Mae (Dorio) Glatt.
He married Shirley (Fink) on Nov. 9, 2001, she survives.
Robert A. Frey, 86, of 9596 Route 219, Brockport, and a former Kersey resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born Oct. 16, 1927 in St. Marys, son of the late Leo and Veronica Smithbauer Frey.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools. He retired from Airco Speer in 1989 after 45 years of service.
Mr. Frey was a member of the St. Boniface Church, an avid hunter and fisherman and loved bowling, woodworking and airplanes.
A joint graveside service and interment for James Woodburn, 91, formerly of Franklin and Helen Hutchinson Woodburn, 91, formerly of Ridgway will take place at 11 a.m.Â Sunday, at Franklin Cemetery.Â In honor of Mr. Woodburnâ€™s service to his country, full military burial rites will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin.
