Linda L. Kilhoffer, 65, of 1737 Rasselas Rd., Wilcox, died Wednesday evening, April 30, 2014 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, following a brief illness.
She was born May 20, 1948 in Bradford, daughter of Robert and Grace Shepardson Wenner.
On March 1, 1975, she married Charles J. Kilhoffer and he survives.
She resided in Wilcox since 1975 and had graduated from Smethport High School in 1966.
A member of the United Methodist Church, she loved working outside, especially gardening and decorating.
Emma M. McAninch, 80, of 3638 Wilcox Rd., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1933 in Hallton, daughter of the late Francis and Theodora Baughman Rhines.
On July 17, 1953, she married Charles W. "Bill" McAninch. He survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and attended school in Hallton.
She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, and loved to crochet and spend time with her family
Donna J. Mahoney, 83, of Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility, Ridgway, formerly of 207 Willow St., Johnsonburg, died early Wednesday morning, April 30, 2014 at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility, Ridgway, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 16, 1931 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Albert E. and Thelma E. Smith Fulton.
On Dec. 30, 1950, she married Joseph C. Mahoney. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1994.
Richard A. "Dick" Cherry, 83, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Kane Community Hospital, with his loving daughter Karen by his side.Â
Dick was born May 2, 1930, in Johnsonburg, the son of the late Patsy and Theresa (Steinbach) Cherry.
Dick married the love of his life, Pearl Bean, on Sept. 27, 1951. She survives.
Richard M. Johnson, 83, formerly of 259 Monterey Ave., Ridgway, died Monday morning, April 28, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1930 in Ridgway, son of the late Arthur R. and Thelma M. (Layberger) Johnson. He was married to Shirley A. Leuschel, who preceded him in death on March 21, 1991.
He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He had been employed by Keystone Carbon for 30 years.
Anthony A. "Tony" McGill, 68, of 384 Rightmeyer St., St. Marys, died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 18, 1946 in St. Marys, a son of the late Aloysious McGill and the late Mary Piccolo McGill Reed.
On May 31, 1975, he married Marie Caggiano McGill, who survives.
Eva Caribardi, 91, of 296 Fairview Ave., Johnsonburg, died Friday morning, April 25, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born March 4, 1923 in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Gennaro and Frances Chirillo Aiello. On Oct. 9, 1940 in Johnsonburg, she married James Caribardi Sr., who survives.
Eva was a devout member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she founded the committee to prepare funeral dinners. She carried on her mother's tradition of the Feast of the Annunciation with a 365 bead Rosary.
Susan R. Raspatello, 86, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Dec. 23, 1927 in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late Patsy and Grace (Parulo) Paladino.
On May 7, 1949, she married Anthony M. Raspatello. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a self-employed seamstress for many years. She also had worked for 18 years at the Elk County Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Anne L. Merley, 83, formerly of Rattlesnake Road, Brockport, and resident at Highland View Health Care in Brockway, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Highland View.
Anne was born Dec. 28, 1930 in Brockport, the daughter of the late Robert and Alma Place Hutchins. Retired, she had been employed at Brockway Glass as an executive secretary in the engineering department. Anne was a member at the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, taking immaculate care of her lawn and garden, and visiting with her family and friends.
Joan G. Verbka, 69, of 276 Coal Hollow Rd., Kersey, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born July 24, 1944 in Anita, daughter of the late Matthew and Helen Anderson Gresock. On July 24, 1965 in the St. Josephâ€™s Church in Anita, she married Rudy Verbka who survives.
She was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School, Class of 1962 and had been a lifelong resident of the Kersey area. She served as the church secretary at St. Boniface Church for 30 years and still worked as a columnist for the local newspapers.
