Sarah T. Nappe, 90. of 17 Penn Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
She was born January 21, 1923, in Brockway, the daughter of the late Ben and Sara Bonavita Aquilino.
On June 7, 1947, she married Alfonso M. Nappe, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2009.
Mrs. Nappe was a long time Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leoâ€™s Catholic Church., C.D. of A. and the Contessa Lodge of the Sons of Italy. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and reading. She also enjoyed her family and friends, especially the extended family of Sam and Rose Delhunty.
Alfred N. â€śAlâ€ť Dempsey, 61, of 453 Toby Road, Kersey, died Wednesday evening, May 1, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 29, 1951 in Franklin, son of the late Alfred and Alice â€śLettie Jeanâ€ť Neal Dempsey.
On September 2, 1972 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church in Reynoldsville, he married Bonnie J. Pegnetter, who survives.
Mr. Dempsey had been a resident of the area since 1975. He was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School, Class of 1971 and graduated from Vo Tech in Reynoldsville in 1971. He was an employee of SGL in St. Marys for 33 years.
Ridgway starter Austin Amacher did his part against his former teammates to help the Elkers stay in the game.
The bats did their part in the sixth inning.

MARYS â€“ Headed into the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference in Hershey in the category of network design, Elk County Catholic High School sophomores Joe Tamburlin and Matt Feldbauer found themselves up against some tough competition. Many of their main competitors were seniors, and some had even previously taken network design courses, which are not offered at ECC. Despite the disadvantages they faced, the Crusader duo was able to use their "good business attitude" during their presentation to earn a fourth-place finish in the competition.
