CAMERON COUNTY â€“ Criminal charges have been filed against a St. Marys man after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase along Route 120 from Emporium to St. Marys at speeds reportedly topping 120 mph.
The dates have already been set for upcoming prescription medicine collection events in Elk County, according to a discussion at the county's Solid Waste Authority meeting on Tuesday.
Elk County Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator Bekki Titchner said medicine collections for 2013 will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 and Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Education Center at Elk Regional Health Center. A pharmacist will be on hand for both collections.
With budget constraints looming and a shortfall in funding, officials at the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission [NCPRPDC] are looking at different ways to fund their Rural Planning Organization [RPO].
JOHNSONBURG â€“ A Brockport man, the subject of a four-month-long federal investigation that culminated in the execution of a search warrant at his home by federal and state authorities, waived his preliminary hearing on the resultant drug and weapons charges in District Court 59-3-02 Wednesday.

Henry C. Friedl, 81, of Jersey Hollow Rd. in Little Valley, N.Y. ,died peacefully on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.
He was born Sept. 29, 1931 in St. Marys, the son of the late Charles and Bertha (Wonderly) Friedl. He married Bonnie Hart-Friedl, who survives.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1953. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Little Valley American Legion.
At their Tuesday afternoon meeting, members of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority discussed how the state's new electronics waste disposal law will affect area residents once it is implemented on Jan. 24, 2013.

Carmen A. Tegano, 84, of Christ The King Manor, DuBois, passed away, Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Ridgway, the son of Joseph P. and Villa (Eleanor) Rosario Tegano. He married Elizabeth Ellen Eckl, she predeceased him on Oct. 6, 1981.
