With temperatures just shy of 60 degrees Saturday, a large crowd turned out for the 34th Annual Ridgway Triathlon.
The first-place team overall was CWSP in 2:29:51. Wee J. Fernan finished the run in 36:21; Charlie Gausman finished the bike race in 40:55; and Steve Martin and Paul Gruber finished the canoe ride in 1:12:35.

In continuing with their natural gas development process, Seneca Resources Corporation plans to begin 3-D seismic testing across a 97-square mile area spanning Elk, Jefferson and Forest counties.
This is a continuation of a project Seneca conducted last year that focused on the greater St. Marys area.
The area encompasses Elk County's Millstone and Spring Creek townships as well as Jefferson County's Barnett, Eldred, Heath, Polk and Warsaw townships and Forest County's Barnett and Jenks townships.

DDCC of April School of Dance ended their regional competition tour at Encore DCS in Johnstown from March 27-29. In an effort to promote Sandy Beach Recreational Park in Ridgway Township, members of the township's recreation board are organizing a Family Fun Day event set for Saturday, May 2.
Organizers hope to have various athletic demonstrations at the park including volleyball, badminton, baseball and softball.
