Elk County Major League All-Stars edged by DuBois, 15-14

JOHNSONBURG – The Elk County Boys Majors All-Star team wouldn't let DuBois just have the victory easily.
After trailing 5-0 and 14-7, Elk County had a sixth-inning rally fall short by a few feet as DuBois won 15-14 over Elk County Friday night in a District 10 Tournament elimination game at Knothole Park in Johnsonburg.

ST. MARYS — The Elk County Major League all stars eliminated the St. Marys squad from the District 10 Tournament on Wednesday by a 7-5 score in seven innings.

BRADFORD – The Ridgway Legion team had much less success on the road Wednesday night than at home a night before.
A night after a 5-4 walkoff win against Fox Township, Ridgway managed only one hit in a 10-0, six-inning loss to top-seeded Bradford at the Kessel Athletic Complex at Pitt-Bradford.

What could have been a downer of a defeat turned into an exhilarating victory in the seventh inning.
After surrendering three runs in the top of the seventh to give up a 3-1 lead, Ridgway scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 5-4 win over Fox Township in the opening game of the Elk County Legion League Playoffs Tuesday night at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.

St. Marys sweeps Legion in doubleheader

The St. Marys Legion baseball team swept Wilcox in a doubleheader played at Berwind Park on Thursday evening. St. Marys won the first game 9-0 and the second game 10-0 in five innings.
St. Marys had seven hits in the first game. For St. Marys, Dan Singer had a double and a single, Dan Stauffer two singles, Brad Dippold, Rudy Gleixner, Shane Haberberger each with a single. For Wilcox Tommy Roberts had a single.

Elk County Major League All-Stars down Fox Township

JOHNSONBURG – The Elk County Major League All-Stars moved on in the District 10 bracket with a 28-0, four-inning victory over Fox Township Tuesday night at Knothole Park in Johnsonburg.
Elk County was the away team in the game and scored in each of the four innings. Elk County scored four runs in the first and six runs in the second. Elk County then put together a 15-run third inning before adding three runs in the fourth.

Ridgway Legion defeats Fox Township 10-5

DAGUS MINES – The Ridgway American Legion baseball team took an early lead in Tuesday night's game at the Fox Township Legion field in Dagus Mines and never looked back, holding on for a 10-5 victory over the Post 511 squad. The game was played in a mix of rain and sunshine, and the only constant was the mud that covered the field.

Wilcox American Legion baseball falls to Bradford

WILCOX – The Wilcox American Legion team lost 13-0 in five innings to Bradford Friday night at Jones Township Community Park.
Bradford scored three runs in the first and fifth innings and had a seven-run second inning.
Wilcox had just one hit in the game, a long Ben Freeburg double to right field.

St. Marys major softball all stars defeat Elk County

KERSEY – The St. Marys Little League Softball major league all stars kept their season alive Friday evening with a 12-0 five-inning victory over Elk County in a contest played at Fox Township Community Park.
The St. Marys team scored four runs in the first, six in the third, and two in the fifth en route to the victory.
Brianna Grotzinger went the distance in the circle for St. Marys, giving up two hits, walking one, and striking out six in the shutout.

Ridgway Legion baseball strands 16 runners in 4-1 defeat

Ridgway Legion had the baserunners and the hits against Bradford.
Just not that clutch hit to sway the outcome.
Ridgway left the bases loaded three times and stranded 16 runners for the game in a 4-1 loss to Bradford Wednesday night at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
"Sixteen runners left on. Three times with the bases loaded," Ridgway coach Ryan LaBenne said. "You can't win games if you can't score. That was the key."
