Lady Dutch hold off late rally to top Ramettes 44-39

JOHNSONBURG – The St. Marys Lady Dutch (7-15) spoiled the Johnsonburg Ramettes' (6-16) Senior Night on Tuesday with a 44-39 win in the Paper City.
Lady Dutch junior Rachel Bauer stole the show as she turned in an impressive performance, scoring 22 points to pace all scorers.

Johnsonburg boys basketball downs St. Marys on Senior Night

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg's seniors went out with a victory as the Rams downed St. Marys 47-33 Monday night on Senior Night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
It was Johnsonburg's fourth straight win to move the Rams to 12-9.
St. Marys led 18-17 after a Parker Housler trey from the corner with 2:27 left before halftime. Johnsonburg would close out the half on a 7-0 run and had an overall 20-4 spurt from Housler's three until the end of the third quarter.

Ridgway ends regular season at 20-2 with win

Ridgway (20-2) ended their regular season Friday night with a 59-26 win over the visiting St. Joseph Catholic Academy Wolves.
The visitors were no match for the Elkers as Jeremy Breier paced the home team with 19 points. Teammate Josh Lineberger followed with 11 points, including seven points in the first quarter to help push the Elkers to a large lead.

Johnsonburg boys basketball downs Brockway from foul line, 43-29

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams were at the foul line consistently in the fourth quarter, so much so that the Rams didn't need points any other way.
The Rams scored all 15 fourth-quarter points from the foul line en route to a 43-29 win over Brockway Friday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
Johnsonburg was 15 for 19 from the charity stripe, taking advantage of Brockway being in the penalty throughout the final eight minutes.

Kane wrestling edges Johnsonburg 30-24 on forfeits

JOHNSONBURG – Kane wrestling won 30-24 over Johnsonburg Thursday evening at Johnsonburg Area High School.
Only three matches were wrestled on the mat and Johnsonburg won them all, picking up a pinfall and two decisions.

Ridgway gymnastics sets season-high score vs. Altoona

Ridgway gymnastics set a season-high team score, scoring 119.9 team points against Altoona Wednesday night at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
Altoona won the meet with 129.95 team points.
Hailey Hoffman of Ridgway was the all-around winner with a score of 34.3. Hoffman won the bars, beam and floor exercise events. Rachael Schiafone was fifth for Ridgway with a 30.475 and Alanna Schiafone was sixth with a 29.15.

Johnsonburg wrestling falls to Youngsville

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg wrestling lost 32-9 to Youngsville Wednesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
Only four matches were wrestled on the mat and each team picked up two victories. Youngsville was aided by three forfeit victories, including at the opening weight of 195 pounds as Austin Spear picked up the forfeit win for Youngsville. After there was no match at 220 pounds, William Peluso tied the team score with a first-period pin over Mason Benjamin in 1:55.

Ridgway girls basketball wins in Paper City over Ramettes

JOHNSONBURG – The third time was the charm for Ridgway girls basketball against the Johnsonburg Ramettes.
Ridgway used a strong second half to win 41-28 over Johnsonburg Tuesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School. Johnsonburg had defeated Ridgway twice before this season.

Ridgway boys basketball edged by Meadville, 50-47

Victory eluded Ridgway Saturday night, but it wasn't for lack of effort.
Ridgway boys basketball lost 50-47 to Meadville at Ridgway Area High School in a closely contested game throughout.
"I told the team I'm proud of them. They really competed," Ridgway coach Anthony Allegretto said. "It is what it is. It's a loss. We're disappointed. We're happy that we really competed with a really, really good team."

Ridgway gymnastics defeats DuBois

It was a Senior Night to remember for Ridgway gymnastics Saturday afternoon as the team defeated DuBois 119.4-112.725 at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School for its second win of the season.
"This is our second win. This is our highest score since I've been coaching which is seven years," Ridgway coach Edna Maddalena said. "The girls don't always see the improvement but I'm glad it can show in their scores and get 100 percent better."
Paige Grazioli, Alanna Schiafone and Amanda Shilk were honored for Ridgway before the meet.
