Bridge collapses under truck hauling wood

Photo by Joseph Bell – A truck carrying firewood caused a bridge to collapse Monday afternoon in Fox Township. The bridge collapsed under the weight of the truck and some of the load spilled out into Little Toby Creek and the embankment.

FOX TWP. – A bridge on a private driveway across from Blooms Road in Fox Township collapsed Monday afternoon under the weight of a logging truck crossing over Little Toby Creek.
Emergency responders were called shortly after 3:40 p.m. to the private drive located just north of 342 Toby Rd. in Fox Township for a report of a high mechanism traffic accident. Elk Company 3 (Fox Township Fire Department), Fox Township Ambulance and St. Marys Ambulance responded to the call.
