Ridgway Township Municipal Authority treasurer Bill Briggs resigned his position as the authority's treasurer, citing illegal practices as the reason behind his resignation.

"Due to what I feel are illegal practices, I am informing you that I can no longer serve as the treasurer of the authority, effective immediately," LaValle read from Briggs' letter.
