Carl Bernard Anderson Sr.

Carl Bernard Anderson Sr., 81, of Peters Road, Brockport died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at Highland View Health Care in Brockway.
Born Oct. 3, 1932 in Ringold, he was the son of the late Norman Charles and Wretha Young Anderson.
He was married on Feb. 8, 1953 to Betty Bundy. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in a few weeks. He was a member of the Brandy Camp United Methodist Church. Carl enjoyed riding his bicycle, motorcycle and canoeing. He had been employed at Stack Pole Carbon in St. Marys as a laborer before his retirement.
Carl was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 where he achieved the rank of corporal.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Carl B. Anderson Jr. of Hazen; and three daughters Alberta (Randy) Walker of Sykesville, Cynthia (Dennis) Miller of Crenshaw and Joyce (Chris) Reed of Brandy Camp. He is also survived by a brother, David (Merna) Anderson of Brockport, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Anderson; and a son, Randy Anderson.
A funeral service for Carl Bernard Anderson Sr. will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home, Inc. in Brockway. with Rev. David Nagele officiating.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
