Carmella D. Carnahan

Carmella D. Carnahan, age 80, of Oak Street, Johnsonburg, died at home Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 4, 1933 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Sisto and Elizabeth (Allegretto) Cicuzza.
She married Charles T. Carnahan in 1954, he preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2008.
She was a past employee of Stackpole Carbon and worked as cook and bartender for many establishments, including Kinzua Inn, Bogarts and The Well. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Polka Boosters, Red Hats, Piedmont Club, Central Hose Co. and Johnsonburg Senior Center. She enjoyed donating her time delivering Meals on Wheels, shopping, the casino, scratch off tickets, making blankets for loved ones, making honey cookies, raviolis, dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Charles M. Carnahan of Johnsonburg, Sylvia E. (Robert) Birt of Wilcox, Julie L. Carnahan (Lori Curcio) of Mt. Jewett, and Shauna E. Carnahan of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren Steven (Kathy) Birt, Travis (Emily) Birt, Michael (Tiffany) Birt, Angela Carnahan, Stephanie (Adam) Wanless, Douglas (Jessica) Carnahan, Shaina Abrams, Juliana Carnahan-Curcio; great-grandchildren Elisha Abrams, Noah Abrams, Vincent Adamski-Carnahan, Roman Carnahan, Kayla, Bleys, Tia, Alia, Kierra and Corwin Birt; one sister, Gerri Bush of Farmville, Va.; her best friend and beloved sister-in-law, Rose Carnahan; and her beloved four-legged grandbabies, Molly and Rosie.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; three brothers, Sisto “Buckskin”, Clement “Dubb” and Guy Donald Cicuzza “Donnie”; and two sisters, Gloria Tietjen and Angelina Cicuzza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Johnsonburg, with Father John Barwin celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 from 9-10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
