Charges of drug delivery resulting in death may be the first of their kind filed in Elk County, according to District Attorney Shawn McMahon.
“To my knowledge, this is the first time that this type of offense has been charged in Elk County,” McMahon said, noting Pennsylvania State Police were also unaware of any previous filings of the type.
McMahon held a joint press conference Wednesday afternoon with PSP in the wake of charges being filed against two Elk County women for the March 2017 death of Kaitlyn Marie Buerk at her parents’ residence in Wilcox. The Ridgway Record was the first media outlet to report the initial story of charges being filed.
