As the winter months continue in Elk County, the Ridgway Fire Department would like to remind residents to keep fire hydrants clear of snow.
Dave Parsons, a member of the Ridgway Fire Department, said Friday that is it easy for a fire hydrant to be overlooked due to snow coverage.
"The hydrants need to be clearly visible and accessible from the road," Parsons said. "Firefighters can lose valuable time if they can't see them or get at them easily."
