Clock tower issues being addressed

October 2, 2013

Elk County Commissioner Dan Freeburg, left, reviews bids for a project involving the courthouse alongside fellow supervisors June Sorg, center, and Jan Kemmer.

The Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday confirmed issues with the courthouse clock tower and approved additional repairs for exterior work on the building.
"We opened bids for this work in August and there was confusion on the part of the bidders on what they were bidding on, and got the Courthouse addition mixed up with the annex," said Elk County Commissioner Dan Freeburg during Tuesday morning's board meeting. "There was confusion over the scope of work and we rejected all the bids, I believe that was in September. We fine-tuned everything and made the specs extremely clear this time and put them out again."
