Crusaders advance to AML boys championship game

February 16, 2013

Alex Herzing dribbles to his left against JoJo Jaques of Ridgway during action Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.

In the first meeting between Elk County Catholic and Ridgway, the Crusaders didn't make a single 3-pointer.
That was far from the case Friday night.
The Crusaders made eight 3-pointers and advanced to the AML championship game with a 61-46 victory over Ridgway at Ridgway Area High School.
"I think just as important as it is for your offense, it's just that important for defense," Elk County Catholic coach Aaron Straub said. "When you make shots, you get a little more bounce in your step defensively, you get a little bit quicker, you get a little bit more energized."
