David J. Gustafson

David J. Gustafson, 61, of Mountain Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield died on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 5, 1952 in Ridgway, son of the late Tom and Nellie (O'Brien) Gustafson.
He grew up on Bailey's Settlement in Clearfield and graduated from Curwensville High School.
He resided most of his life in Ridgway. Dave was a Christian who spent many years involved in the Cornerstone Church of Ridgway. He served in the U.S. Air Force and over the years was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Sons of Italy.
He was employed for many years by Allegheny Coatings in Ridgway. He was a diehard Steelers fan and enjoyed golfing at the country club in Ridgway, bowling leagues at Jireh Lanes, and playing in a dart league. He also enjoyed watching soap operas.
He is survived by four sons, Eric (Tonya) of Ridgway, Jesse (Jennifer) of Ridgway, Joshua of Johnstown, and Robert (Stevie) of Ridgway; eight grandchildren, Eric and Evan, Damon, Dallas, Damian, and Jaelynne and Gianna and Dylanna; four siblings, Tom Gustafson, Fred Gustafson, and Susan Starr, all of Clearfield, and Nancy Gustafson of Ebensburg; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Gustafson.
Memorial services for David J. Gustafson will be held in the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor John Smith.
Family and friends will be received for two hours prior to the service on Friday morning.
