David W. Erich

David W. Erich, 46, of 511 N. St. Marys Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie following complications of an injury from a car accident many years ago.
He was born February 13, 1967 in St. Marys, a son of Arnold "Butch" and Doris Rigard Erich of St. Marys.
David was a member of St. Mary's Church and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1985. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985-1989. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog, Forest. He was known for his love of Ebay and could always be found buying and selling things. He was an avid hunter who looked forward to spending time in the woods every year with his dad. He also enjoyed the Pittsburgh sports teams and collecting different kinds of patches. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Dale Erich and his wife Josie of St. Marys, Chris Erich and his wife Dawn of Ridgway and Roger Erich and his wife Dove of Xenia, Ohio and a sister, Karen, Mrs. Joseph Gallagher of Exeter; five nieces, Jennifer (Kurt) Kocher, Ashley Erich, who was also his goddaughter, Ellie Erich, Amber Erich and Sarah Gallagher and one nephew, Austin Erich along with his maternal grandmother, Alice Rigard of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Francis Rigard; paternal grandfather, Robert Erich and paternal grandmother Helen Erich; and paternal step-grandmother, Loretta Erich.
There will be no visitation.
Relatives and friends of David W. Erich are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street in St. Marys, on Monday, April 29, 2013 at noon with Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
