March 10, 2014

Kane's Evan DeLong gets his hand raised as he is crowned PIAA Class AA Champion at 170 pounds on Saturday afternoon in Hershey's Giant Center. DeLong defeated Richland's Nico Pecora 12-3 to win the title, becoming only the second wrestler in Kane history to win the state tournament.

HERSHEY – The Kane Wolves wrestling team only sent two wrestlers to the PIAA Class AA Championship Tournament last week, but those two wrestlers put on a clinic on how to perform under pressure by going 9-1 at the Giant Center in Hershey.
Evan DeLong won the state title one year after finishing as runner-up. DeLong rolled through the 170-pound weight class. On Thursday, the Wolves’ senior opened up his tournament with a technical fall over Chartiers-Houston’s Derek Hull. DeLong ended the match in 3:32 with a takedown and two back points to get him the 17-2 win.
