Dolores A. Roth

Dolores A. Roth, age 80, of 514 Ash St., Ridgway, died Sunday morning at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 7, 1930 in Olean, N.Y., daughter of the late Carl E. and Irene (Heller) Johnson. Following the death of her mother she was raised by her aunt Amanda Irene Johnson. She married Clarence E. (Bush) Roth on July 1, 1955, he preceded her in death on May 22, 2008. She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and an 80-year member the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #208. She was a 1948 graduate of the Ridgway High School, and a graduate of the Hahnemann School of Nursing where she earned her R.N. She had been employed by the Elliot Company, the Elk County General Hospital and by Dr. Menteer as an R.N.
She is survived by one daughter, Wendy A. Gardner and her husband Ronnie R. of Ridgway; one grandson, Aaron C. Gardner of Ridgway; one granddaughter, Korin A. Gardner of Monroe, N.Y.; a cousin, Phyllis Olay of Ridgway who she was raised with like a sister; a nephew, Jonathan J. Reifer and his wife Rox-Ann of Bloomsburg; two nieces, Marian A. Reifer of McLean, Va. and Rebecca A. Mausteller and her husband Duane of Elysburg. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joan I. Reifer, and a cousin, Lois F. Jeld, who was raised like a sister.
A Memorial Service for Delores A. Roth will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Erik Hart, Pastor of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m.
Memorial if desired can be made to the Ridgway Public Library.
