Donna L. Carlsson

Donna L. Carlsson, 74, of Haycock Twp., Bucks County, formerly of Kane, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, March 3, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.
Born Nov. 10, 1938 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Fred and Edna Larson Wirth. She married the Rev. Dr. Andrew E. Carlsson, with whom she celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last August.
Donna was an administrative assistant at Kane Community Hospital for 25 years before retiring. Mrs. Carlsson was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg, where she sang in the choir. Donna was known locally as a stained glass artisan. In Kane, she was a member of the Kane Players, performing in several musicals. She was also a member of the Kane Chorus, Ridgway Concert Choir and Meadville Chorale. Donna was a loving grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also assisted her daughter Kristin in the daily care of her children.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children Dr. Mark A. Carlsson and his wife Marcie of Butler, Peter J. Carlsson of Butler, Jennifer E. Bartek and her husband Richard of Butler, Linda S. Bryce and her husband Gary of South Park, Kristin S. Hassler and her husband Greg of Haycock Twp.; a sister, Beverly Scheskie and her husband James of Des Plaines, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and two-great grandchildren.  
Donna was predeceased by a sister, Jean Shirley Pridham, in addition to her parents.
Services will be held Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church in Coopersburg.  
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service at Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the rev. Bill Waterman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tabor Lutheran Church, 200 Dawson St., Kane, PA 16735, or to the Kane Community Hospital, 4372 Route 6, Kane.
