Dorothy K. Gapinski

Dorothy K. Gapinski, 84, of 409 Second Ave., Johnsonburg, died Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born on November 7, 1926 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Frances M. Chiesa Marasco.
She married Chester "Chet" Gapinski on June 4, 1947 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. He survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1944.
She was involved with the Holy Rosary Church, Maria Jose Lodge, Funeral Luncheon Committee, Rosary Altar Society and was a member of "the Quilters".
She was employed by Rinovato Pharmacy in Johnsonburg for 22 years, retiring in 1988. She had also worked at GC Murphy & Co. and for the FBI in Washington, D.C.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Renee, Mrs. Terry Lau of Merrimack, N.H.; one son, Chester "Rusty" Gapinski and his wife Mary Ann of Groton, Mass.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine and Elizabeth Gapinski and William, Abigail and Michael Lau; and one sister, Joyce Beaver of Johnsonburg.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, William Gapinski, in 1969.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy K. Gapinski will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John G. Barwin, retired, of St. Anne's in Wilcox, officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
