Driver in 6-fatality crash to stand trial on 35 charges

SMETHPORT – A Kane woman will stand trial on 35 charges as the alleged prescription drug-impaired driver in a Route 219 traffic accident last Aug. 31 that claimed the lives of six people.
Kathleen S. Douglas, 37, appeared Friday morning in McKean County Court on her scheduled “last day to plea” in the case.
Senior Judge William F. Morgan of Warren took the bench at 10:12 a.m. in the small courtroom to face the defendant and her court-appointed lawyer—Smethport attorney James P. Miller. County District Attorney Ray Learn appeared for the prosecution.
