Edward M. McAlee, age 60, of High Street, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center of Danville, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1950 in Ridgway, son of Harold â€śBudâ€ť and Lavina (Roberts) McAlee, deceased.
He worked as a Bell Tone hearing aide salesman, millwright at Johnsonburg paper mill, and manager of the Johnsonburg Elks Club where he also had served as Exalted Ruler. He also owned and operated the Kopper Kettle restaurant of Johnsonburg from October 1999 to May 2011.
A member of Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, he enjoyed his two antique cars but had a passion for the Drum Corps of Johnsonburg where he was an organizer and marching member with both the Diplomats and the Gray Knights.
He lived all his life in Johnsonburg.
He is survived by one sister, Valerie Shaffer of St. Marys; and three nephews and one niece.
He is predeceased by his parents and one sister, Barbara Eukon.
Visitation for Edward M. McAlee will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg and Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at the Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg with Pastor Jay Tennies of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
