Elkers down A-C Valley in playoffs

May 22, 2013

Josh Mitchell struck out 17 for Ridgway in a 3-0 win over A-C Valley.

EMLENTON – It was a pitching tour de force by Ridgway starting pitcher Josh Mitchell against A-C Valley.
Mitchell struck out 17 A-C Valley hitters and allowed just one hit as Ridgway won 3-0 in the first round of the District 9 Class A baseball playoffs Tuesday afternoon.
"I just want to thank my teammates," Mitchell said. "Ben (MacDonald) called a great game. It also helped for us scoring runs too in the fifth inning. I probably wouldn't have momentum and adrenaline to finish up."
