Elkers take county crown

The Ridgway Elker boys basketball team won the Elk County Holiday Basketball Tournament with a 45-38 victory over Johnsonburg Friday night in the championship game held at St. Marys Area High School. Aaron Sorge, Jordan Lundin and Eric Matheson of Ridgway were selected to the All-Tournament Team with Matheson winning the MVP on offense. Quinn Luhr and Cameron Grumley were selected for Johnsonburg with Grumley winning the MVP on defense. Clayton Housler of Elk County Catholic and Justin Quiggle of St. Marys rounded out the All-Tournament Team. It is Ridgway's second boys' tournament win, the first was in 1992.
