Fire at South St. Marys St. residence

ST. MARYS – Area emergency responders were dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday for a structure fire at 572 S. St. Marys St. in St. Marys.
Elk Company 1 (Crystal Fire Department) and St. Marys Ambulance were dispatched at 9:08 p.m. Elk Company 3 (Fox Township Fire Department) was called out 12 minutes later, and Elk Company 2 (Johnsonburg Fire Department) was dispatched at 9:42 p.m.
Elk Company 4 (Ridgway Fire Department) was later sent out at 10:06 p.m.
The building was engulfed in flames and thick smoke had limited visibility upon arrival.
The road was shut down at Vine Road and Arch Street as emergency response vehicles and hose covered the four lane roadway.
No additional information was available at press time.
