Fox Township wins Legion League

July 17, 2013

Ben MacDonald threw two runners out at third base during Wednesday's game for Wilcox.

WILCOX – Fox Township won the Elk County American Legion Baseball League championship with a 5-3 victory over Wilcox Wednesday at Jones Township Community Park in Wilcox in the deciding game of the tournament.
Overall, Fox Township took two out of three from Wilcox in the tournament.
"No hitting. We have a hitting line and we're not hitting, we're not stringing," Wilcox coach Jeff Peterson said. "You can't have a hit here and then a couple groundnuts and then a hit later. You got to string them. Going into this tournament, if we don't string them, we're going to be just like we are here, one-and-done and then another one-and-done and we're going to be coming home. We got to start hitting the ball. We got the pitching, we got the defense."
