George J. “Jit” Haupricht Jr.

George J. “Jit” Haupricht Jr., 82, of Dill Hill Road, Johnsonburg, died at home on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 13, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late George J. and Helen (Pavlock) Haupricht.
On July 4, 1953, he married Kathryn (Shannon) and she survives.
A 1950 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force 3510th maintenance squadron from 1951-1953 being stationed in Sampson AFB, Lowry AFB, Mitchell AFB and Randolph AFB, and receiving the National Defense Service Medal.
He worked in the pulp laboratory of the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for 43 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and Ridgway Rifle Club where he was also a founding member of the Silhouette Shooting Competition, lifetime member of the NRA and member of the PA Rifle & Pistol Association.
He was a Distinguished Master Pistol Shooter, registered in .38, .22 & .45 calibers and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and competing in many shooting competitions. 
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather being truly adored by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a very strong value of “Family, God & Country” and has lived in Johnsonburg since 1946.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kenneth G. (Gina) Haupricht of Johnsonburg, and Cheryl (Donald) Launer of Johnsonburg; four grandchildren, Kenneth M. Haupricht, Jamie (Ryan) LaBenne, Kristyn (Eric) Lowry, and Brian (Jacqueline) Launer; three great-grandchildren, Nora Haupricht, Elizabeth Lowry and Dominic LaBenne; and one brother, Douglas (Diane) Haupright of Johnsonburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Warmbrodt.
A funeral service for George J. “Jit” Haupricht Jr. will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at 8 p.m. at Ubel Funeral Home, 111 Bridge St., Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson presiding.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, followed by the service at 8 p.m.
Military honors will be held privately on Tuesday at the Ubel Funeral Home. Johnsonburg/Wilcox Servicemen’s Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Community Nurses, Inc. – Hospice.
