Grace A. Dietz

Grace A. Dietz, 100, of 1529 Front St., Ridgway, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Instanter, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret Kemmer Wright.
She married Carl A. Dietz on Nov. 6, 1937 in St. Leo’s Church, he predeceased her in death on Feb. 5, 2000.
Mrs. Dietz was a 1931 graduate of Ridgway Centennial High School. She was a student at the Mountain Clinic School of Nursing for one year. Grace worked in Emporium at Sylvania for a number of years before she was married. In 1947 she worked on the railroad. In 1944 she was hired at the Tannery, and in 1950 she went to Quality Components in Daguscahonda, where she worked for 30 years. Grace was a member of St. Leo’s Church and at one time a member of Ladies of the Moose.
She is survived by two sons, Gary A. Dietz (Joyce) of St. Marys and Carl M. Dietz (Germaine) of St. Marys; two daughters, Paula Calabrese (Thomas) of Erie and Linda Wilson (John) of Kersey; 12 grandchildren, and their spouses, Carl (Connie), Teresa (Rod), Donald (Vickie), Gary (Amy), Shelly, Nathan (Ginny), Jason (Erin), Cain (Carol), Halle (Tom), Danny (Amy), Craig (Christy) and Justin (Tara); 17 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Chelsea and Corey Dietz, Joshua, Jonathan and Michael Dietz, Camryn and Shane Bowie, McKayla and Dempsey Wilson, Alyssa Dietz, Nicalo and Natalia Musone, Cody and Lindsey Dietz, Alaina Wilson, Nicole Calabrese; and by two great-great-grandchildren, Callie and Grace Day.
Grace was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She shared many loving memories of them all. She was the last member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas E. who died in infancy; three brothers, Bert, Irwin and Lavern Wright; three sisters, Elizabeth Yonker, Pearl Howard, Le John Irene Colemen; and by 18 nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Grace Dietz will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor.
Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Silver Creek Terrace, 791 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
