JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams (15-1) got another big night from junior Cameron Grumley en route to a 60-37 win Friday over visiting Elk County Catholic.
The junior had 21 points on the night while fellow junior Cole Peterson put in 14 points.
A basket from ECC senior Hank Cappiello gave the visitors their only lead of the game before the Rams rattled off a 10-0 run for a 10-2 lead early on. Senior Mitchell Holmberg cruised in for a layup just over a minute into the first quarter to knot the game. Peterson followed with a steal and layup 45 seconds later for a 4-2 lead. After Peterson came up with another steal, Holmberg scored at the six-minute mark for a 6-2 advantage. A basket from senior Quinn Luhr upped the lead to 8-2 before Grumley came up with a steal and raced down the floor for an uncontested layup and 10-2 lead.
