Helen B. Linder

Helen B. Linder, 87, of 326 Bingham Rd., Ridgway, died Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Barney and Josephine (Kolinoski) Piurkoski.
She married Paul R. Linder on Nov. 1, 1952, and he survives.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1952 and was a past member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Johnsonburg, and a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Ridgway. She had been employed by Sylvania in Emporium for over 20 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Paul M. Linder and his wife Kelley of Jacksonville, Fla. and Thomas T. Linder and his wife Barbara of St. Marys; a daughter, Deborah A. Williams and her husband Terry of Killingworth, Conn.; four grandchildren, Sarah, Jean, Louis and Jennifer; two sisters, Eva Metelski of Ridgway and Frances Olewinski of Wilcox; a brother, Philip Piurkoski of Rochester, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Linder, and a brother, Leon (Barney) Piurkoski.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal for Helen B. Linder will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Marys on Saturday at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home, 136 Center St., Ridgway, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Wake Service will be held Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m.
