Irene A. O'Rourke

Irene A. O'Rourke, 86, of 804 Rasselas Road, Wilcox, died on the morning of January 20, 2013, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 6, 1926 in Wilcox, daughter of the late Edward and Alice Retzer Powell.
On June 14, 1945 in St. Ann's Church in Wilcox she married Calvin S. O'Rourke, and he survives.
She resided in Wilcox all her life and graduated from Wilcox High School in 1944. She was a member of St. Ann's Church, Wilcox. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Along with her husband, they are the owners of the "Ponderosa" in Wilcox.
She was employed by Bell Telephone Co. in Ridgway for several years. She had owned and operated the McFarland House in Wilcox for 10 years.
In addition to her husband at home, she is survived by a son, Calvin D. O'Rourke and his wife Cheryl of Smethport; four daughters, Rebecca Walters of Wilcox, Inda, Mrs. Richard O'Connell of Wilcox, Fay, Mrs. Jeff Glissman of Laramie, Wyo., and Kelle, Mrs. Tom Jacobs of Johnsonburg; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nedra Rooney of Erie.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darcie O'Rourke; two sons, Darby and Kirby O'Rourke; three brothers, Grant, Norbert and Robert Powell; three sisters, Jean Costner, Fay Weber and Beverly Hull; and two grandchildren in infancy.
A Memorial Mass for Irene A. O'Rourke will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg on Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas.
Arrangements under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg.
