Johnsonburg track faces ECC, Kane in double dual

KANE – The Elk County Catholic track and field teams swept the Johnsonburg and Kane squads in a double dual meet held Tuesday at Kane.
Against Johnsonburg, the Lady Crusaders beat the Ramettes 89-44, while the Crusaders downed the Rams 117-22.
The Lady Crusaders beat the Lady Wolves 81-65, while the Crusaders beat the Wolves 80-69.
“We had another good meet today with some strong performances, especially in the throws and jumps,” said ECCHS coach John Schneider.
“Congratulations to David Bojalad, who set a new school record in the new javelin with a throw of 179’1”,” said Schneider.
For the Lady Crusaders in the Johnsonburg meet, Kennedy Weisner was a triple winner as she won the 400 dash and 800 run and was a member of the winning 1600 relay.
Double winners were Megan Dornisch in the shot put and discus, Molly Eshbach in the long and triple jumps and Emily Gregory in the 200 dash and the 1600 relay.
Single winners were Abbi Petrosky in the 100 hurdles, Jessica Franco in the pole vault, Kate Singer in the 1600 run, Marla Scacchitti, Rachel Glatt, Emma Daghir and Danielle Healy in the 400 relay, and Morgan Onink and Helen Danz in the 1600 relay.
Against Kane, Weisner was a triple winner, taking the 400 dash, 800 run and 1600 relay.
Dornisch won the shot put and discus and Eshbach won the long and triple jumps, while Gregory won the 200 dash and 1600 relay. Single winners were Petrosky in the 100 hurdles, Franco in the pole vault, Maggie Sorg, Maria Scacchitti, Kate Singer and Cassie Thompson in the 3200 relay, and Morgan Onink and Helen Danz in the 1600 relay.
For the Crusaders in the meet against Johnsonburg, Jared Schaut was a triple winner, taking the 100 and 200 dashes and the 300 hurdles.
Double winners were Ryan Detsch in the 400 dash and 1600 relay, Harley Thompson in the 800 run and 3200 relay, David Bojalad in the discus and javelin, Caleb Lecker in the 1600 run and 1600 relay and Rob Prokop in the 3200 and 1600 relays.
Single winners were Joe Cooney in the 110 hurdles, Jake Herbstritt in the high jump, Adam Lovenduski and Joe Hoffman in the 1600 relay, Joe Georgino, Josh Gebauer, Sam Mosebarger and Andrew Wolfe in the 400 relay.
Against Kane, Schaut was a triple winner in the 100 and 200 dashes and the 300 hurdles.
Single winners were Cooney in the 110 hurdles, Detsch in the 400 dash, Bojalad in the javelin, and Georgino, Gebauer, Mosebarger and Wolfe in the 400 relay.
The ECC teams are in action today at the County Meet being held in Johnsonburg.
In recent action for Johnsonburg, the girls' team won 94-14 over Sheffield and 99-27 against Otto-Eldred. Cody Anderson of Johnsonburg had a new school record in the discus at 121-4 3/4.
The boys' team lost 90-24 to Otto-Eldred and 94-26 to Sheffield. Trevor Miller set a new record in the shot put at 54-5.
