ST. MARYS – The accolades keep coming for Johnsonburg boys basketball.
The Rams claimed the Elk County Holiday Tournament for the second straight year with a 64-43 win over Elk County Catholic Friday night at St. Marys Area High School.
"It is very special," Johnsonburg coach Bill Shuey said. "I know the seniors, they end the career here in the holiday tournament as a winner. It's always special."
Johnsonburg advances to play Bridgeport (WV) tonight at 8 p.m. for the EQT Energy Classic championship at St. Marys Area High School.
"They're very similar to us, not real tall, very fast," Shuey said. "Hopefully it doesn't turn into a track meet but then again both of us have played two nights in a row so I don't know how much gas is left in the tank. We'll find out."
