Knocking off Lincoln Park too tall a task for Elkers

March 13, 2013

Ridgway senior Robbie Byrd looks for an open player Tuesday night in the second half against Lincoln Park Charter. Ridgway lost 51-34 to end their basketball season.

CLARION – Lincoln Park Charter spoiled the Ridgway Elkers' state playoff run for the second year in a row Tuesday with a 51-34 victory to advance to the Class A quarterfinals.
Ridgway last season advanced to the semifinal round before losing 65-46 March 20, 2012 to the Leopards.
"Our team played hard but after giving it everything they had and losing, they're hurting right now," Ridgway boys varsity basketball coach Anthony Allegretto said following the loss. "The first half went really well for us and our defense was doing very well. They played their hearts out and left it on the floor."
