Lady Elkers fall to Lady Rovers

Ridgway girls basketball lost 48-20 to Brockway in action Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Ridgway took the lead early in the game as Dani Shirey banked home a jump shot. Juli Vokes, Laura Felczak and Juli Esposito added field goals as the Lady Rovers took a 6-2 lead. After an Esposito free throw, Tracey Ecklund added a bank shot to cut the margin to 7-4. After an Espositio free throw, Taylor Cappetta of Brockway and Jessica Kifer of Ridgway alternated field goals to leave Brockway ahead 10-6 with 1:20 left in the first quarter. Vokes would add another field goal with 42 seconds left in the opening quarter as the Lady Rovers led 12-6 after the first eight minutes.
