The Lady Elkers had the advantage in shots, scoring chances and kept the ball in DCC's end for much of Tuesday's playoff game against the Lady Cardinals.
DuBois Central Catholic had the advantage in the most important stat at the end of the night, most goals scored.
A Maddie Meyers goal with three minutes left in the second half gave DuBois Central Catholic the lead and ultimately the win as the Lady Cardinals advanced past Ridgway with a 2-1 victory Tuesday night at Frank Varischetti Field in Brockway in the District 9 Class A girls soccer semifinals.
"You can't find the net, you go home," Ridgway coach Greg Maddalena said. "We felt we were the better team but you know what, until you put that ball in the net, you're going to go home."
The Lady Cardinals were called for offsides twice in the second half, including a call 34 seconds before Meyers' goal. Meyers would take control of the ball, closely marked near the 30-yard line. Meyers would hit a hard, low shot which would find the back center of the net and give DCC a 2-1 lead.
