Mary J. Yankasky

Mary J. Yankasky, age 96, of 16839 Boot Jack Rd., Ridgway, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 30, 1916 in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kotrick) Julock. She married John Yankasky on Oct. 10, 1936, he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2002.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1942 and was a member of the Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in DuBois. She had been employed by Caldwell Decorators for 27 years.
She is survived by the following: one son, John P. Yankasky and his wife Doris of Warren; three grandchildren, Thomas Yankasky and his wife Barbara of Ford City, Karen Sell and her husband Jeffrey of Frederick, Md., and John M. Yankasky and his wife Kimberly of Ford City; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Marusa of Dixonville, Rose Pappal of Indiana, and Julia Cimbala of North Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Bilunka and Eva Stango; five brothers, Charlie, John, Mike, Peter, and Nickolas Julock; and two brothers in infancy.
Funeral services for Mary J. Yankasky will be held at the Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. in DuBois. Officiating will be Rev. Robert K. Yetsko, T.O.R. Pastor of the Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
