Pair of Johnsonburg track and field athletes finish with state medals

Ashley Imbrogno finished third in the girls javelin with a throw of 133-2, setting a new school record in the process. Imbrogno bettered her seed of 130-8 by over two feet to win the third-place medal.

Two Johnsonburg girls track and field athletes finished with state medals on the second day of the PIAA track and field championships held Saturday at Shippensburg University.
Ashley Imbrogno finished third in the girls javelin with a throw of 133-2, setting a new school record in the process. Imbrogno bettered her seed of 130-8 by over two feet to win the third-place medal.
Gabbi Benninger finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 36-6 1/2. Benninger bettered her seed coming into the meet of 35-1 1/4. This is Benninger's second state medal in triple jump, she was second last year at the PIAA meet with a mark of 36-9 1/2.
