Police seek info in fire, burglary at Fox Twp. camp

Staff Writer

The Ridgway-based State Police are investigating a burglary and several small fires at a seasonal camp along Garnerhill Road in Fox Township.
Police said that between July 26-27, unknown actors forced entry to a concrete block construction seasonal dwelling owned by Richard M. Weishar of New Kensington, located along Garnerhill Road, a quarter-mile north of Shrubb Lane, Fox Township.
Police report the actors ignited several small fires inside and outside of the building. All fires self-extinguished. Windows in the building were broken. Furniture and other contents within the structure were also physically damaged. A section of copper electric line was cut and removed from the property.
Evidence recovered at the scene suggests multiple actors were responsible for the crime. Damage is estimated at $8,000. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 814-776-6136.
The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) Pittsburgh Office and the Fox Township Fire Chief Scott Surra assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
