JOHNSONBURG – Lights out.
After the Johnsonburg Rams (13-1) stormed the floor to pre-game introductions complete with spotlight theatrics in a dark gymnasium, the show continued as they shot lights out for an extensive early lead, and eventually prevailed in a 49-29 win Friday night over visiting Ridgway (11-3).
Johnsonburg senior Kyle Sheldon paced all scorers with 15 points on the night. He was complemented by juniors Cole Peterson and Cameron Grumley, who scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Ridgway was led by senior Jesse Reynolds, whose 14 points accounted for the team's only double-digit tally.
The bright spotlight, however, belonged to the star-studded Rams.
Despite giving up the first points of the game, the Rams quickly responded with a 14-point outburst to start the first quarter, taking an early 14-2 lead.
