Richard E. “Dick” McAninch

Richard E. “Dick” McAninch, 74, of Grove St., Johnsonburg, and recently of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Howard Sr. and Goldie (Updyke) McAninch.
He was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and graduated from Johnsonburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962. He retired from the Johnsonburg Paper Mill in 1997, where he worked in the storeroom. He was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and Central Hose Company.
He is survived by a brother, Charles “Bill” McAninch of Wilcox, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Biel and two brothers, Carl and Howard Jr.
Funeral services for Richard McAninch were held at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Little officiating. Interment was in the Wardvale Methodist Cemetery.
Military honors were accorded by the Johnsonburg/Wilcox Servicemen's Detail.
Visitation was at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m.  
The family suggests memorials to Johnsonburg United Methodist Church.
