Ridgway boys golf wins tri-match

ST. MARYS – The St. Marys Area High School golf team split with Ridgway and Kane on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the Kane Wolves 223-257, but lost to the Ridgway Elkers 208-223 on Wednesday afternoon at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course.
Ridgway’s Jesse Reynolds was the overall medalist for the day with a three-over-par round of 38. Kane’s Ryan Greto led his team with a 44. Low scorers for St. Marys Area were Rudy Gleixner and Sam Miller with 40s.
“Sam and Rudy have really come a long way since just a few weeks ago,” said St. Marys Area coach Dan Vollmer. “I am very happy with how they played today.”
St. Marys Area’s Justin Beimel finished the day with a 46, followed by teammate Quinn Cunningham with a 48 and Owen Schreiber with a 49. Other Dutch scores were Jacob Lechner, Robert Watts and Dillon Gallagher with 51s.
Following Reynolds for the Elkers were Josh Mitchell with a 40, Jordan Lundeen with a 42, Eric Matheson with a 43, T.J. Schlimm and Mitchell Gillmore with 45s, Josh Roselli with a 47 and Jake Klawuhn with a 50.
Following Greto for Kane were John Bedford with a 51, Dan Park with a 52, Austin Hoag with a 54 and Austin Woolcock with a 56. Also for Kane, Trace Gordon shot a 64.
The Dutchmen will return to action on Wednesday when they play host to the Bradford Owls in a match scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
"That was another solid team effort away from home," Ridgway coach Dave Zawaski said.
Ridgway is slated to play in the Bradford Invitational on Saturday.
