Ridgway varsity volleyball honored with banquet

The Ridgway volleyball team was honored with a banquet last Thursday night at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School. Ridgway varsity head coach Janet Redmond introduced all of the players. Jenna Hoffman won the Defensive MVP award, the Jacqueline Renaud award and the overall MVP award. Hoffman had 121 serving points with 96 digs and four kills. Redmond told the story of Hoffman getting a back row kill from the libero position for the winning point against Sheffield in the final match of the season. "She's an awesome player," Redmond said. "She always gives 110 percent. Jenna was the captain of the team. We had a couple conversations about different things throughout the season. Playing back row and having her as a libero was the best decision I made this year. She knows how to call, how to get to the ball. She was the leader of the team this year."
