Rose Rippy

Rose Rippy, 86, of 1513 Thorpe Street, New Castle, formerly of 420 Fourth Ave., Johnsonburg, died Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013, at the residence of her daughter, Mary Ann Wright, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 1, 1927 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Feldbauer Uhl.
On July 2, 1949 she married Francis J. "Jude" Rippy, and he preceded her in death December 27, 1995.
Formerly of Johnsonburg and St. Marys, she resided in New Castle for the past year. She attended St. Marys Catholic High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Johnsonburg Senior Center.
She had worked at Sylvania, Inc. of Emporium, Pure Carbon of St. Marys, and Stackpole Carbon Co.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Wright and her partner Randy Carbone of New Castle, and Marilyn Rippy of Walnut Port; three sons, Frank Rippy of Johnsonburg, Mark Rippy of Fox Chapel, and John Rippy of Erie; four grandchildren, Michelle McGuire, Daniel Morcombe, Jr., Shannon Neureiter and Scott Wright, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Mahoney of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norbert and George Uhl; and two sisters, Agnes Peters and Alice Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Rippy will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Monday, April 15 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be: Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m.
