Schneider throws 2-hit gem in 18-2 rout

April 16, 2013

Johnsonburg freshman Ashton Watts, left, looks down the line Tuesday as Ridgway third baseman Sierra Kos waits for the play. Watts was 2 for 2 on the day with a stolen base and a run scored.

JOHNSONBURG – Even a steady downpour in the first inning Tuesday afternoon did not deter Ridgway freshman Hollie Schneider as she cruised to a 2-hit 18-2 victory in four innings on the road against Johnsonburg.
"We're happy with Hollie [Schneider] and she did terrific," said Ridgway head varsity softball coach Gary Gerber II. "She only got two thirds of an inning in before getting rained out the last time she went out so it was good to see what she has in her first full game.
"She threw the ball well but she had some mental lapses in the fourth inning."
