Should council have waited to appoint new member?
The resignation of John Casolo Jr. as a Ridgway Borough councilman was accepted during Monday's Ridgway Borough council meeting, although the council wasted no time in appointing a replacement.
After Casolo's resignation was accepted by a 5-1 vote, the council nominated and approved Ron Burkett as a replacement councilman, again with a split vote.
Should members of borough council have waited until the next monthly meeting in order to gauge public interest in the position? Perhaps someone other than Ron Burkett would have been interested in the position had they known it had become available? Let us know your thoughts.
