Tractor tire runs over Kane boy, 8

WETMORE TWP. – An 8-year-old Kane boy was seriously injured Monday morning when he was run over by a large tire on a runaway tractor in Wetmore Township.
The name of the boy has not been disclosed.
The Kane Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call on Old State Road in Wetmore Township about 10:20 a.m. Monday, Kane Fire Chief Tim Holt said.
About 15 firefighters were at the scene with the rescue truck, Emergycare Ambulance of Kane and State Police, according to the fire chief.
The ambulance transported the boy to Kane Community Hospital.
A medical helicopter transported the boy to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, the fire chief said.
The condition of the injured boy was not available late Monday night.
In the freak accident, the runaway tractor crashed into a shed after running over the boy, Holt said.
A spokesman for the State Police said a press release is not being issued on the incident, which occurred on private property. Police said no charges would be filed.
