Veterans Affairs clinic requested for Elk Co.

The Elk County Board of Commissioners at Tuesday's meeting where they issued a letter of support for an effort to bring a medical care facility serving military veterans to Elk County.

RIDGWAY - With the majority of Elk County's 3,000 military veterans currently traveling up to two hours for hospitalization - and an hour for a checkup - through US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), a local advocacy group is working to bring a clinic here that would cater to the county's servicemen and women.
